MUMBAI : Most of the release dates of Bollywood movies have been altered due to the Coronavirus pandemic. From Katrina Kaif-Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi to Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone's '83, most of the films are been rescheduled but the makers of these films have put the stamp on their new release date as they will be hitting the big screens this year, while there are some other films who have turned to OTT platforms. Having said that, the other film which is sure about releasing it in the theatres is Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha but the film will not release this Christmas as expected.

According to a report in TOI, the film will see the light of day in Christmas 2021. The report mentioned that Aamir Khan has also decided to change the release date of his next film by a year which is Christmas 2021. Ever since the lockdown was imposed nationwide, the shooting has come to a halt and with that, even Laal Singh Chaddha’s shooting was stopped due to the pandemic.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Mona Singh revealed that she hasn’t heard anything from them yet about resuming shoot. The actress was quoted saying, "I haven't heard anything from them as yet. I am sure they are also planning and deciding because most of the shoot is outdoors, it is not in Mumbai. It is a tough call. Maybe they will wait it out and step out only when it is safe to get out of the city, flying people out of Mumbai. I don't know what is going to happen. I shot for major parts of January, February and half of March. For me, it is only 10 days of work left, so let's see what happens."

Laal Singh Chaddha is directed by Advait Chandan and is an official remake of Tom Hanks' Forrest Grump. The film also stars Mona Singh.
