MUMBAI: Indian TV actor Abhay Vakil, who has been off the screen for some time, was on a hiatus for a reason. TellyChakkar has exclusively information that Vakil was working on his next project—a Bollywood flick. However, his followers will have to wait some more to see him on-screen. The Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki actor won’t be seen in the film, as he is writing and directing it.

When we contacted Abhay, he confirmed the news: ‘It is too early to talk about it.’

When asked about the cast, he said, ‘There are a few big names approached. We might lock one popular actor, but I can’t reveal any names.’

Abhay has completed the writing of the film, and it is currently in the pre-production stage.

The movie will have cricket as the backdrop while spreading awareness about cancer. On the subject, the actor said, ‘It is an interesting topic that no one has touched.’

He also denied that the film is based on cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s struggle with cancer. ‘It is not an emotional drama; it is out and out action thriller.’

Abhay revealed that he has finalized the production house that will back the movie. However, he refused to reveal the name.
