While majority of them have been rooting for big stars and major countries, Bollywood heartthrob Aditya Roy Kapur who is also an avid football fan has been supporting the underdogs this time around. With the ongoing tournament producing some exciting and unexpected results with several countries that were considered underdogs putting in good performances, Aditya too has been lending his support for them especially to the likes of Colombia and Costa Rica. When asked to analyse the performances so far, Aditya said, “Argentina and Brazil need to stop relying on their star players, Lionel Messi and Neymar respectively. In the last match, Germany missed their centreback and Mats Hummels, and Mesut Özil need to improve. Otherwise, they have been perfect.” While Spain and even England stunned fans by not making it to the round of 16, the actor’s impressed by the smaller teams who have managed to topple the giants in this competition. “Colombia and Costa Rica have got here because of their unity and spirit. They work for each other, probably because they don’t have established players. There are no big egos in the dressing room, so they play as a unit,” asserted Aditya. Well, if one of these underdogs actually ends up winning the FIFA World Cup, we are sure Aditya will throw a big daawat for his near and dear ones.
