AIB takes down controversial roast video after fierce backlash

AIB roast video

It's a classic case of high profile roast gone awry. Tanmay Bhat & Co bravest attempt till date at churning out the filthiest comedy ever seen in India has received immense censure from many corners.

It all started with fans taking to Twitter expressing their collective disgust at the atrocious, vulgar and offensive language that was pandered in the name of roast comedy in AIB knockout. The issue soon attracted the attention of the Maharashtra government who instituted an inquiry to check if censor certificates and other licenses were obtained by AIB before conducting the show. A criminal complaint was also lodged in Saki Naka police station demanding action to be taken against AIB organisers and KJO, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. The final nail in the coffin was driven by MNS who has now demanded a public apology from Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor. Not to forget rumours suggesting that Salman Khan gave a thorough dressing down to AIB chieftain Tanmay Bhat for allegedly cracking jokes on his sister, Arpita Khan.

All this perhaps proved a bit too much for AIB folks. Yesterday night, the roast video was taken off their official channel and other fanpage networks of AIB and its members.

"Have taken down AIB Knockout for now. We will speak soon," tweeted AIB.

We texted Tanmay for a reaction but as usual the comedian remained incommunicado.

Meanwhile, Sonakshi Sinha and Karan Johar tweeted their response to the current on goings.

Sonakshi wrote yesterday, " So nice to see twitter is filled with such angels who point out hypocrisy n never use foul language n have nvr laughed at dirty jokes (haw)." (sic)

Soon, Karan tweeted as well. " Not your cup of tea...don't drink it!!!"

Let's wait and see how things pan out in future for AIB and the Bollywood stars. Surprisingly, Ranveer and Arjun have chosen to stay mum on the entire issue till now.
