MUMBAI: Actress Bhumi Pednekar has had an eventful 2019 with the release of several films like Sonchiriya, Saand Ki Aankh, Bala and the latest Pati, Patni, Aur Woh. While she was lauded for her performance in Bala and Saand Ki Aankh, her latest flick did a good job at the Box Office. The actress who is making heads turn with her acting skills and fashion avatars is all set to start her 2020 schedule and she is super busy already!

The actress is all set to begin her shoot for Durgavati, in Madhya Pradesh on January 14. Backed by Bhushan Kumar, Akshay Kumar and Vikram Malhotra, Durgavati is the Hindi remake of Telugu horror film Bhaagamathie.

As per sources, Bhumi will be essaying the role of an IAS officer. Durgavati will mark Akshay and Bhumi's second venture together after Shree Narayan Singh's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. The film will revolve around a woman imprisoned in a haunted house while being interrogated in a corruption case.

As per the sources the team is presently working on Bhumi’s look in the film, which will be larger-than-life. Meanwhile, hunt for the supporting cast is on.

Bhaagamathie is a 2018 Telugu horror film written and directed by G. Ashok. It stars Anushka Shetty in the lead, Jayaram, Unni Mukundan, Murali Sharma, and Asha Sarath in other pivotal roles.
