Arjun Rampal is certainly going through the lowest phase of his life. After receiving some really bad press for almost a year post Hrithik-Sussanne’s break-up, the actor has landed in hot waters once again over his alleged meeting with jailed gangster Arun Gawli.

Arjun, who is essaying Arun Gawli’s role in his upcoming next, Daddy, reportedly met the gangster on December 29^th, last year in JJ hospital. The actor is said to have spent close to an hour with the jailed don who was brought to the hospital for a routine check-up. Gawli, who is serving a life term in connection with the 2008 murder case of corporator Kalakar Jamsandekar, is in judicial custody and Arjun reportedly didn’t have the necessary permission to meet the convict.

Taking serious cognizance of the issue, the Mumbai cops have now summoned the actor to seek an explanation behind his action. Reports also suggest that an internal enquiry has been instituted against the policemen who had accompanied Gawli to the hospital and reportedly facilitated this Gawli-Arjun meeting.

Daddy based on the life and times of Arun Gawli is being directed by debutant Gaurav Bavdankar.
