Tellychakkar got in touch with Waluscha where she got candid about her favourite childhood memory, pranks and much more.
What’s your favourite childhood memory?
I was born and brought up in Goa so our house was by the beach and the back door would open up to the sand dunes. There was a point where Goa had sand dunes and today we have restaurants on sand dunes so we can’t see them anymore. So as my back door used to open to those sand dunes, I used to roll down those dunes.
One prank in your childhood that either you played or was played on you?
It wasn’t a prank but I hated school, studying and coming back home to my tuition teacher. So every time the tuition teacher used to come home, I would climb up the guava tree and sit there because nobody could climb up so high. So the teacher would and for 1 hour, tell me to come down but I wouldn’t agree at all so for 1 hour I would sit up until everybody left.
Tell us about your fondest memory from the shooting days?
We were shooting in a beautiful land, Kashmir. A beautiful backdrop, amazing food, sweet people and every evening we would have a bonfire. If you know Manav, he is full of energy and very comical. So he was our entertainment every night. It was like watching live television. The moment he would start talking, you would not even need a television.
Tell us about the tale behind your first audition.
That would be my audition for Fan. I didn’t even know who I was auditioning for. I was only told that it’s a very important audition. They were very secretive about whom it was opposite and the fact that it was a Yashraj Production. I did my homework and put my audition on a tape, without knowing where it was being sent. Later, I got a call from Manish Sharma and I had no clue that it was opposite Shahrukh. So yes that was a pleasant surprise.
What’s that one lie you have always said?
I think I’m pretty honest. I say things as they are and it gets me into trouble sometimes. I should learn to restrain myself and try to adopt white lies but I’m one of those who just says it as it is.
