MUMBAI: Sushant Singh Rajput's tragic demise has left his million fans in grief but more so, as his drastic step has left multiple questions in their head. With this, the fans even demanded CBI inquiry and kept trending hashtags like #WhyDelayInCBIForSSR, #PMModiCBIForSSR, #CBIMustForSushant, #CBIForSonOfBihar on Twitter. This, despite the Mumbai police doing their best to interrogate as many people as possible who are or were involved with Sushant. Just recently, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur was summoned on June 29 for his statement but as he was not in Mumbai, he sent a detailed statement to the cops through email in which he revealed that the late actor's film with YRF got shelved which devastated him.

That's not it, he also mentioned that this 'could be the reason why he was battling depression.' According to Mid-Day reports, in his statement, Kapoor has spoken about the film Pani, which got shelved in 2015 after Yash Raj Films stepped down as the producer. "He hasn't named anybody but has said that Sushant worked really hard for the film, which got shelved due to creative differences between him and Yash Raj Films," a police officer told Mid-Day. "He also said that Sushant was totally devastated after that and this could be the reason why he was battling depression but he never discussed it," the officer added.

The reports further stated that according to the director's statement, he and Rajput started working on the film Pani, which was Rs 150 crore budget where Sushant was supposed to play Gora for which he worked very hard.

A day after Sushant's tragic passing away, Shekhar Kapur had tweeted, "I knew the pain you were going through. I knew the story of the people that let you down so bad that you would weep on my shoulder. I wish I was around the last 6 months. I wish you had reached out to me. What happened to you was their Karma. Not yours. #SushantSinghRajput."
