MUMBAI: Kannada actress Jayashree Ramaiah, who was best known for participating in 'Bigg Boss 3 Kannada', was found dead on the afternoon of January 25. 

According to reports, she was found hanging at Sandhya Kirana Ashram of Bengaluru, where she was undergoing treatment for depression. Reports also suggest that Jayashree died by suicide on 24 January late at night. 

Last year, in July, Jayashree made headlines for her posts on social media. On her Facebook account, in her now-deleted post, she wrote, 'I quit. Goodbye to this world and depression'.

After deleting her post she shared a new update saying, 'I'm Alright and safe!! Love you all.' A few days later, she went live on her social media handle and said, 'I am not doing all of this for publicity sake. I am not expecting financial help from Sudeep sir as well. I am only expecting my death as I am unable to battle depression. I am financially strong but depressed. I have been going through a lot of personal issues. I have been betrayed since childhood and unable to overcome it.

 The actress's tragic death has now sent shockwaves across the Kannada film industry and her fans. The actress, unlike many 'Bigg Boss' participants, was not flooded with work opportunities after participating in the reality show. Reportedly she was unhappy about the lack of opportunities and had even shared the same with her friends. 

She reportedly stopped responding to messages and phone calls from family and friends, who then contacted the ashram. When the authorities of the ashram checked in she was found hanging. A case has been registered with a police station in Bengaluru. More details of the case are awaited.
