MUMBAI: We have seen many untimely demises in Bollywood over the time, these demise news no doubt brings sadness and shock with itself, over the time we have heard the instances of an actor who is all set to do a movie but his sudden demise brings a shock wave to the fans, hen in this scenario we see other actors stepping in the shoe of the actor for the same movie, so here are we with the list of the Bollywood actors replaced their colleagues post their untimely death

Dharmendra replaced Guru Dutt

Guru Dutt was shooting for Baharen Phir Aayengi, until his alcohol addiction and sleeping pill overdose became a cause of his untimely death at the age of 39, under mysterious circumstances. Later, Dharmendra was roped in to play the role

Madhuri Dixit replaced Sridevi

Karan Johar had cast late actress Sridevi as Baahar Begum for his highly ambitious project Kalank, which boasted of a stellar cast including Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, and Alia Bhatt among others. The same was then taken over by Madhuri Dixit. In a later interview, Karan shared that he was glad he did not direct the veteran actress since he would have been too much of a fan and let her down with the project. 

Sridevi replaced Divya Bharti

Anil Kapoor starrer Laadla was starring actress Divya Bharti and is said to have completed 80% of the film. However, the actress died by suicide after falling from her balcony. The film was then reshot with Sridevi. Divya was also to star in Mohra which later starred Raveena Tandon and Hulchul which starred Kajol. 

Rishi Kapoor had replaced Om Puri

Om Puri was originally roped in to play the character of the Film Producer in Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s biographical film Manto. However, the actor died under mysterious circumstances. While initially, it was said that the actor passed away due to a heart attack, his autopsy hinted at a head injury four centimetre long and one hand a half-inch deep wound as mentioned in his preliminary post-mortem report.
