MUMBAI: Over the time we have seen celebs grab headlines for their gorgeous photos and upcoming projects, there are times when they become the talk of the town for not-so-good reasons. In the past, there have been several instances where income tax officials have conducted raids at homes and offices of popular celebs to track tax evasions by celebrities. Here's a compilation!

Celebs whose houses were raided by IT officials

Taapsee Pannu

On Wednesday, the Income Tax Department raided Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu's Mumbai house. The searches were conducted as a part of a tax evasion investigation that was carried out across 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune, which also covered Reliance Entertainment group CEO Shibhasish Sarkar and some executives of celebrity and talent management companies KWAN and Exceed. The raids began in the morning and went on till evening.

Anurag Kashyap

Along with Taapsee Pannu, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's house and office were raided by IT officials. Searches were conducted as a part of the raid. Officials have shared that several documents and computer peripherals have been recovered from various premises.

Ekta Kapoor

A day before the release of Ekta Kapoor's film Shootout at Wadala, her house was raided by IT officials for suspected tax evasion. Nearly 100 officials were on the job, who searched the Kapoor residence and also the Balaji Telefilms Studio. As perf reports, officials from the department swooped down on seven locations across the city, including Ekta's residence in suburban Juhu, as part of the searches.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Back in January 2011, Priyanka Chopra's house was reportedly raided by the Income Tax department. If reports are anything to be believed, the authorities found details of hidden income worth Rs 6 crore from Priyanka and other possessions worth Rs 1.5 crore from her father, Dr Ashok Chopra, and her assistant, Chand Mishra.

Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt

Back in 2012, Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood and Sonu Nigam's houses were raided by IT officials as a result of the red flags that were highlighted by their acquisitions. While for Dutt, it was his collection of custom made wristwatches, in case of Sood, it was his recent Rs. 30 crore worth property deal.
