“I was blackmailed into doing my role in Saathiya,” says Rani Mukerjee

MUMBAI : Rani Mukerji has made a significant contribution to the film industry. She started her career with a Bengali film titled Biyer Phool, directed by her father Ram Mukerji. Her first lead role was in Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat. Some of her popular movies include Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Saathiya, Hum Tum, Yuva, Veer-Zaara, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, No One Killed Jessica, and Mardaani. The actress has garnered a lot of love and appreciation from the masses and the classes.

Fans on social media leave no stone unturned to shower their love on her. Now, they have shared an amazing throwback interview of the actress where she was seen revealing how the late Yash Chopra convinced her to take up Saathiya.

She revealed that her late father-in-law convinced her to play Suhani in the movie Saathiya by calling her parents into his studio, locking the door, and telling them that they could not leave until they agreed that Rani would do the film. She added that she was foolish for having refused it in the first place and was grateful for this 'blackmail'.

Well, we all loved the movie and Suhani's role in it, and look forward to seeing more of the actress.
