While many Indian celebs will give their arm and leg to grab even a blink-and-miss role in Hollywood, the Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan is certainly in no tear away to star in productions of the West. The legendary actor who made his Hollywood debut in 2013 with The Great Gatsby starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Toby Maguire said that he if he ever had to choose between Bollywood and Hollywood, the former would receive first preference over the latter.

Said Amitabh Bachchan, “If there ever comes an occasion where I have to choose between a Hindi film and an English project from the West, I would choose to do the Hindi film.”

Amitabh was speaking at the trailer launch of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s English film, Broken Horses where he was one of the special guests along with Aamir Khan. Aamir too echoed the same thoughts as that of Amitabh Bachchan. Reacting on whether he sees the influence and reach of English cinema growing over Hindi ones, Aamir said, “I don't think English movies will take over our movies or industry. I will always be here because I am emotionally connected to my soil and my industry. For me language is not important. It is the creative element or the story that should excite me. Be it from China or America, if the script excites me, I will do it.”

 Meanwhile, noted producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra who is currently basking in the glory of the 300 crore club is aiming to reach new grounds with his maiden Hollywood venture, Broken Horses. The movie which has been written, directed and produced by Chopra represents the culmination of his long-standing dream to make an English film. Said Vidhu, “Ever since my school days, I had this dream of becoming a filmmaker. Later on, after making Hindi movies, it became a long standing dream of sorts to make an English movie. Broken Horses represents the completion of the dream.”

Refuting reports of the movie being a copy of his cult movie Parinda, Vidhu said, “It is not a copy of Parinda but yes that was a take-off point. This film will only be in English to maintain its individuality.”

Broken Horses will open in theaters across India on 10th April.
