MUMBAI: Ishaan Khatter has proved his mettle by working in his debut movie itself. He made his debut with Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds, and then he was seen in Karan Johar’s Dhadak.

He is only two films old but these films are proof enough that the young gun has a whole lot of acting talent waiting to be explored. After reports of Ishaan opting for Vishal Bhardwaj's project over Mira Nair's adaptation of Vikram Seth's A Suitable Boy surfaced a few weeks ago, a latest report now suggests that Ishaan is back in the game after settling creative differences. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Ishaan has given his nod for Mira Nair's project and will be starring as the male lead.

Pinkvilla had earlier reported that Mira Nair had approached Tabu to play the role of one of the female leads. "A Suitable Boy is about four families and has several sub plots, but the central plotline is about the character of Tabu trying to find a suitable groom for her daughter Lata. She is over controlling and extremely dominating in nature, and becomes a major cause of conflict in Lata's life. The role required someone with brilliant acting prowess and Mira couldn't think of anyone better than Tabu,” the portal’s source had said.

Apart from Tabu and Ishaan, the makers have roped in actress Tanya Maniktala to play the role of Lata, Tabu's daughter. Tanya was last seen in the web series Flames. Ishaan plays Maan Kapoor and he is determined to enjoy life to the fullest whatever be the consequences. The story revolves around the trio and Ishaan's infatuation with Tabu. Ishaan is looking forward to work with the legendary filmmaker Mira Nair. “I hope I can satisfy Mira’s vision and give the global audience the character they deserve in Maan Kapoor,” Ishaan said.
