MUMBAI: Actress Kangana Ranaut, who earned appreciation and awards for her performance in films like Queen, Tanu Weds Manu: Returns, Fashion, and Gangster, says that filmmakers Karan Johar, Ketan Mehta, and Rakesh Roshan singled her out for criticism.

In an interview with a leading publication, the Bollywood actress revealed, ‘I did feel cornered after Simran's failure. Filmmakers Karan Johar, Ketan Mehta, and Rakesh Roshan singled me out for criticism.’

‘The industry was having intense meetings to put me in my place. Aditya Pancholi filed a case, and Rakesh Roshan continued to say he would reveal something. However, all of this did not go anywhere,’ she added.

Kangana, who never shies away from expressing her opinions on issues ranging from film to feminism to nepotism, was embroiled in many controversies. She was also in the news for dating Sooraj Pancholi and Hrithik Roshan at different phases of her life. However, the controversies never stopped her from giving her best to her film projects and standing for what she believes in.

On the work front, she next will be seen in the historical film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, where she plays the lead role of Rani Laxmibai. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 25th January.
