John Legend is learning to swim at 40

Musician John Legend said he is having swimming lessons as he has never been able to swim properly.

The Ordinary people hitmaker surprised his 12.4 million Twitter followers when he said he was off for a swimming lesson, as he claimed he "can't really swim", reports femalefirst.co.uk.

He wrote, "I can't really swim. Today I took my first swim lesson since I was like five. My dad learned in his 60's so I feel like I'm ahead of schedule."

A fan then joked that he was lying on his song All of me because of the line, "My head's under water/But I'm breathing fine."

They quipped, "So what happened when your head was under water? Did you breathe fine? Was it all a lie?!"

Legend, who has eight-month-old son Miles and two-year-old daughter Luna with his wife Chrissy Teigen, re-tweeted the post, and wrote, "All. Lies. Hahaha."

John is not alone in not being able to swim.

Many celebrities have revealed over the years that they either can't swim at all or have a fear of water, including Will Smith, who only learned in 2016 and Zayn Malik said he had a fear of open water preventing him from hitting the pool.

No Instagram pressure for Julia Roberts

Hollywood star Julia Roberts loves using Instagram because she does not feel any pressure to post updates on the photo-sharing platform.

"The nice thing is, you know, I was actually just talking to a girlfriend today and saying it's nice that I don't feel pressure or responsibility. I do what I can when I can and it's just so, in that way, it's fun. It doesn't feel like work," leading publication quoted Roberts as saying.

Roberts is a fan of actor Josh Brolin and actress Sarah Jessica Parker's Instagram pages.

Asked what her favourite accounts are, she said, "There are a few. Molly Yeh is a chef who I really enjoy and I follow her and I love Josh Brolin. I think he is a brilliant Instagrammer. Great Instagrammer. Sarah Jessica Parker is really good. So yeah, there's some fun things, for sure."

Ashton Kutcher yearns for real connection

Actor Ashton Kutcher posted his phone number on social media, saying that he misses having a real connection with real people.

In a now-deleted tweet, The Ranch actor, 40, shared his phone number on Tuesday, reports leading publication.

"I miss having a real connection with real people. My Community. From now on you can just text me. I won't be able to respond to everyone but at least we can be real with each other and I can share the unedited latest and greatest in my world," he posted.

Kutcher added his phone number and said, "Yes this is my#" in case anyone had doubts.

A few hours later, he deleted the tweet and said, "Changing my social media strategy starting tomorrow. Stay tuned. I will repost soon. SMS is a fragile beast."

Later, Kutcher enjoyed a date night with actress and wife Mila Kunis at the LA Lakers game. Kunis will soon be seen in the animated film Wonder Park.

A Paramount Pictures film, Wonder Park will be exclusively distributed in India by Viacom18 Motion Pictures. It is slated to release on 15 March.

"I want to apologize to all of my fans who have been so loyal over the years, my band, my crew and to Judas Priest (band) for letting you all down. However, I promise the tour with Judas Priest will be completed. It's being rescheduled right now to start in September. Again, I apologise to everyone. God Bless. Love you all, Ozzy."

How Swift helped Nyong'o survive a hard time

Actress Lupita Nyong'o says Taylor Swift's hit Shake it off helped her to get through a hard time.

The 35-year-old actress spoke with reporters on Tuesday at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, revealing how the 2014 hit lifted her spirits amid a rough patch in her career, reports leading publication.

"I was going through a hard time professionally, and I was just in a funk," said Nyong'o, who was promoting her new film Little Monsters, which features the track.

The 12 Years A Slave star said that at the time she "was working abroad" and her "best friend came to cheer" her up.

"He played ‘Shake it off' on his phone and we just had a dance party in my bedroom."

Nyong'o said that it "meant a lot" to her that the track was included in the movie.

"I wrote Taylor Swift myself and asked her and told her that story -- and she said yes," said the actress, who in the film is a teacher named Miss Caroline who plays the song on a ukulele to keep the children calm.

Nyong'o is also elated that Black Panther became the first superhero film ever to make it to the Best Picture category at the Oscars. It has earned seven nominations. The 91st Academy Awards will be held on 24 February here and will air in India on Star Movies.
