MUMBAI: Billu was a very successful movie in the year 2009 and the movie had Irfan Khan and Lara Dutta in main roles whereas SRK had played the superstar in the movie.

It was also produced under SRK’s production house Red Chillies and it got a mixed response at the Box office and when it came to critics.

It was a movie about a superstar and his old lost friend and how it became difficult to recognize your friend's post stardom.

The performance of the movie was highly appreciated and loved by the audiences. It also had Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone as special appearances in the movie.

Let’s give you a little bit of trivia, did you know that Shah Rukh Khan wasn’t the first choice to play the role of the superstar but it was another actor who had been offered the movie.

Media reports suggest that the director of the movie Priyadarshan wanted to cast Akshay Kumar but then since things didn’t work out between the two, for reasons best known to them, Priyadarshan cast SRK for the role.

Today when one watches the movie, one would feel like no one would have been able to play the role of Sahir Khan the superstar.

The movie wasn’t a huge success but did a decent business at the Box office but was critically acclaimed.
