MUMBAI: It’s been 28 years since the iconic movie Don was made. Years later, Farhan Akhtar and Shah Rukh Khan joined hands to remake the movie in 2006. The original movie had attained cult status, and the remake also gained love and appreciation from the audience. Thus, Farhan turned the movie into a franchise.
After the huge success of the two instalments, Don 3 has been in the pipeline for a long time. There is buzz doing the rounds in the entertainment industry that Shah Rukh Khan won’t be a part of the franchise anymore.
As per media reports, the actor has opted out of the film for personal reasons. Now, the makers are keen to rope in Ranveer Singh for the film. Post the success of Padmaavat, Simmba, and Gully Boy, Ranveer is now a favourite with filmmakers. The actor has not only showed his versatility but has also proved to be a bankable actor. However, there has been no official confirmation of him joining the star cast.
Producer Ritesh Sidhwani had told a leading publication that they are working on the script of Don 3. He doesn’t know when the script will be completed, and they are being very careful as they don’t want to disappoint fans.
After the Zero debacle, Shah Rukh Khan has apparently signed no other movie, and the Baadshah of Bollywood is taking his time to give a nod to any script.
