Save A Life By Joining Hands With Sara Ali Khan Through Fankind

MUMBAI: To help HIV-affected children in India, the ever-charming Sara Ali Khan has joined hands with Fankind – a fundraising platform by Anshula Kapoor.

Through this association, the funds raised would be given to Mumbai-based NGO Committed Communities Development Trust (CCDT) to help children such as Kirti to help them achieve their
dreams and lead a normal life.

Kirti was brought to CCDT’s centre – Ashray (A residential care program) at the age of 3. She was identified by a social worker from Bhagwati hospital where her mother passed away due to HIV and her father had abandoned her. Along with having other ailments such as herpes and weak eyesight, Kirti was also HIV+.

Not giving up on herself, Kirti was enrolled into Petite High School through CCDT and is committed towards her education. She received regular medical assistance, nutrition and educational support, along with timely counselling, which helped boost her morale and made her feel more confident about herself. This care and nurturing made Kirti feel at home because of which she began performing well in school and also began participating in all activities at school and the center. If you ask her today, she’ll tell you that she dreams to be a banker when she grows up!
There are several children like Kirti in India who have aspirations just like everyone else. The funds raised will not only help provide for these children and their families but will also ensure a secure future for them.

Requesting her fans to donate, Sara Ali Khan said “I am grateful to CCDT for the wonderful work that they do by supporting children and families that are affected by HIV. Not only do they provide shelters and infrastructural help to those directly affected by AIDS, but they also ensure that families don’t fall apart after a member is diagnosed. Since in today’s day and age, social stigma and emotional trauma are as important issues to address for families as actually supporting those that are affected by HIV. Over the years, CCDT has been working towards reducing stigma and discrimination and ensuring that people have access to treatment, information and prevention services. Thank you Fankind for giving me this amazing opportunity to play a part in giving back to the society, I urge you guys to help me support this noble cause.”

To support Sara Ali Khan and donate towards children like Kirti, all you need to do is log on to  www.fankind.org sara and make your contribution. One lucky fan would stand the chance to meet Sara Ali Khan and watch her new film Love Aaj Kal before release along with her followed by a sharing a meal and a conversation.
