MUMBAI: Released early this year, short film ‘Devi’, created a stir on the Internet and intrigued the audiences with its sensitive yet powerful and relevant messaging. Based on the rating on Ormax Advocacy, ‘Devi’ has now become one of the top 10 Indian shows and films on the Internet. 

Lead by the brilliant star cast of Kajol, Shruti Haasan, Neha Dhupia, Neena Kulkarni, Mukta Barve, Sandhya Mhatre, Rama Joshi, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Yashaswini Dayama, the short film was directed by Priyanka Banerjee. Produced by Electric Apples Entertainment led by Niranjan Iyengar and Ryan Stephen, ‘Devi’ narrated the tale of nine oppressed women, from different strata of the society, held together by similar fates and stories. ‘Devi’ has received tremendous appreciation from the industry as well as the audiences and has crossed over 15M views. 

Commenting on this announcement, Kajol said, “I cannot believe that we have made to the Indian top 10 films and shows on the Internet! I have to thank the viewers for all the love they’ve shown to our film. Films like Devi with a powerful message must reach more viewers and I am so happy it did! Of course, I have to thank Ryan and Niranjan for their vision with Devi. Needless to say none of this could have been possible without that great script and the other actresses!”
