MUMBAI: Here we bring you some updates from Hollywood. Take a look...

Stan Lee's cause of death revealed

Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee died due to cardiac arrest, respiratory and congestive heart failure, according to his death certificate from the Los Angeles Department of Health.

Lee suffered from aspiration neumonia. In late February, he revealed he was battling pneumonia, explaining to leading publication that he had to cancel several appearances because of his illness.

The release of his death certificate comes two weeks after Lee died on 12 November at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre here. He was 95.

On 16 November, Lee's POW! Entertainment said the comic book legend was laid to rest "in accordance to his final wishes".

"As we all continue to process our feelings of loss at the passing of a true legend, many are asking if there will be a memorial in Stan's honour," the company said in a statement.

"Stan was always adamant that he did not want a large public funeral, and as such his family has conducted a private closed ceremony in accordance with his final wishes. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with them."

Lee was credited with co-creating some of the popular superheroes like Spider-Man to Black Panther. But it wasn't until years later that he became the public figurehead and face of Marvel Comics.

He often made appearances at comic book conventions and lectured at colleges. Lee continued to play an important role as Marvel transitioned into television during the 1980s, serving as narrator on animated series like Incredible Hulk.

Lee also made cameos in a total of 26 movies, beginning with The Trial of the Incredible Hulk in 1989 and ending with 2018's Venom.

Before his death, Lee completed cameos in several upcoming films, including one for Disney's Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Lee is survived by his daughter Joan Celia "J.C." Lee.

Elton John cancels concert due to ear infection

A plethora of fans were left disappointed after musician Elton John cancelled his concert here on Tuesday night, nearly 30 minutes after the show was scheduled to start.

"We're sorry to announce that due to an ear infection, Elton John is unable to perform tonight," Amway Center revealed in a statement on Twitter and also announced to the audience waiting for the singer at the Florida venue, reports people.com.

The concert, which is a part of the 71-year-old singer's Farewell Yellow Brick Road three-year tour, will be rescheduled.

"The rescheduled Orlando date will be announced in the near future, so please hold onto your tickets," Amway Centre wrote.

Despite the organisers' attempt to calm John's fans, many outraged concert-goers expressed their fury on Twitter.

"Sir Elton John, I think the way that your show was cancelled was pitiful! You let all your fans including me pay for parking, hotels, babysitters, drinks, merchandise then sit and wait for 25 min after it was to begin to cancel. Pitiful," one fan wrote.

"Girls, Elton John just cancelled his show in Orlando," a different user tweeted adding a crying and broken hearted emoji. "It was the first time I was gonna see him bye."

"Taken 5 minutes apart," another fan wrote alongside a photo which showed the venue before and after the cancellation.

John's show in Tampa has also been postponed.

"Due to an ear infection and doctor's orders, the sold out show scheduled for Wednesday, 28 November in Tampa is being postponed to a date to be determined," a press release read.

"All tickets for the original date are valid for the rescheduled date which will be announced shortly. No exchanges needed. If a guest cannot attend the rescheduled date, refunds are available at point of purchase."

Perry mourns death of friend who helped launch her career

Singer Katy Perry is mourning the loss of a close friend who died last week after suffering from cancer for long.

The singer, 34, posted the heartfelt tribute to Angelica "Geli" Cob-Baehler on Instagram Tuesday and explained how bigtime music executive, 47, played an incredibly important role in her career, reports the leading publication.

"Six days ago, one of my biggest champions and realest friends, Angelica Cob-Baehler moved on from this place," Perry began.

"She was one of the strongest women I have ever known - fighting her cancer like friggin' Rocky, enduring chemo, immunotherapy, a tracheotomy, feeding tubes for months on end, and experimental cancer treatment trials.

"I watched her go through many stages for over a year, but a few things remained constant: her sarcastic/wicked sense of humour, her positive outlook, and the incredible love she had for her family," she added.

Perry and Cob-Baehler have known each other for over a decade. At the start of her career in 2004, Perry had landed with Sony's Columbia Records.

However, after things fell through with them, she ended up signing with Capitol Records thanks to help of Cob-Baehler who "stole her files" and "brought them to life" at the label, Perry explained.

Cob-Baehler played a massive role in the production of Perry's 2008 album One of the Boys, which featured her breakthrough hit I Kissed a Girl, according to Variety. She also helped with the development of Perry's next album Teenage Dream.
