MUMBAI: Recently, Ira Khan opened up about her mental health.

Through an IG video, the star kid revealed that she has been suffering from clinical depression for over four years now. Among many messages of compassion and encouragement, she also received several hate comments.

On Friday, she posted an Instagram story warning the baseless hatemongers for posting hateful comments on her mental health's post.

“For my posts on mental health: If you’re hateful or irrelevant once, I will delete your comment. If you do it again, I will restrict your access to my posts.”, she wrote.

Earlier, Ira Khan conducted an Instagram poll asking her followers if she should delete hateful and irrelevant comments on her post about mental health. She added that these hateful comments don't bother her and received 56 per cent votes in it's favour.

In another poll, she had asked her followers if they want Hindi subtitles for the video. 53 per cent said yes, to which Ira asked them to give her a week's time to come up with it's Hindi subtitles.

In an effort to raise awareness about mental health on World Mental Health Day (which is recognised on October 10), Ira Khan shared a video on Instagram in which she talked about her struggles with depression. She emphasised on the need to start a conversation about ill-mental health.

Sharing the video, she wrote, "A lot has been going on, a lot of people have a lot to say. Things are really confusing and stressful and simple and okay but not okay and... life altogether. There's no way to say it all in one go. But I'd like to think I've figured some stuff out, or at least figured out how to make it slightly more understandable. About mental health and mental ill-health. So come with me on this journey... in my awkward, quirky, sometimes-baby-voice-y, as-honest-as-I-can-be... way. Let's start a conversation. Happy World Mental Health Day (sic).".

Ira started the video by saying, "Hi, I'm depressed. I have been for more than four years now. I've been to a doctor and I'm clinically depressed. I'm doing much better now. For over a year now, I wanted to do something for mental health, but I wasn't sure what to do.".

She added, "I have decided to take you on a journey - my journey - and see what happens. Hopefully, we'll get to know ourselves and understand mental illness slightly better. I've thought of so many things to say. What should I say? Why am I doing this? Let's start from where I started. What do I have to be depressed about? Who am I to be depressed? I have everything, right?".

While Ira Khan has shown her interest in direction, it will not come as a surprise if she decides to act in Bollywood.
