MUMBAI: We all know the power of social media. From commoners to celebrities, everyone is utilizing social media for various purposes. There is no doubt that social media has brought the celebrities and fans closer to each other. However, it has its disadvantages too.
While it keeps us connected with people from any part of the world, social media has also become a platform for spreading hate. While there are good and bad in everything, the cons of the internet are increasing by the day. More and more people are facing online backlash, hatred, mean messages and overall trolling. Celebs especially are at the receiving end. Any and every action that is taken by a star is closely monitored, and within seconds they get trolled on social media.

From Shah Rukh Khan to Salman Khan, not a single super-star has been left from the cycle of hatred that spreads on social media. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has especially been at the receiving end of online trolling. Wondering all the time your favourite actor was trolled mercilessly by Twitterati? Here is a list!
1 Salman Khan shirtless is a cult in itself, but posing shirtless for a winter collection advertisement did not make sense to the public. Many took to Twitter and called out the actor. Last year during the lockdown Salman had taken to Twitter and announced the launch of Being Human's Autumn/Winter clothing collection. Along with the post, he shared a shirtless picture of himself posing stylishly on a horse.
2 Salman Khan has time and again shown his support for various issues. The actor had taken to Instagram on July 14, 2020, and posted a picture from the fields. He could be seen sitting in a field, his body fully covered with mud. Respect to all the farmers", read the picture's caption. However, netizens soon noticed that the mud was not evenly put and it looked like he had applied it for a photo, according to many netizens. “See carefully, his hand is not muddy but his arms are. This means someone else has applied mud on him”, wrote one Twitter user.
3 Salman had taken to his verified account to post a picture where he is seen wearing a mask manufactured by his brand, Being Human Clothing. This was nearly two months after the death of Sushant and netizens were still furious. "Are you sure that you're still Being Human, Salman ji? Mask hi to pehen rakhe the aap ne itne saalo se (you have been wearing a mask for so many years now)," read a user's comment.
