Trailer Review: Ungli

Ungli

How often have you encountered pesky auto rickshaw drivers who refuse to ply short distance? How often have you been stopped by corrupt traffic cops who are out there to make a quick buck? Ever felt like giving these ruffians a dose of their own medicine? KJO's Ungli professes to do just that. The common's man way of delivering vigilante justice and meting out corporal punishment to the thugs who harass innocents.

The trailer opens well with snapshots of Emraan Hashmi delivering hell to a rickshaw driver by packing him off in a luggage locomotive for refusing to ply minimum fare distance. The story makes national headlines and just when everyone wonders who assaulted the rickshaw driver, a masked man dressed like a terrorist sends his prerecorded message warning all those who trouble the aam aadmi to brace themselves for hell is certain to come their way. The masked gang consists of five members namely Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Randeep Hooda, Neil Bhoopalam, Angad Bedi. These self-appointed common man's crusaders unleash their terror on criminals, punishing them for their crime and sins and roam around with impunity as their identities remain incognito. To put an end to this menace enters feared police officer, Sanjay Dutt who holds the reputation of breaking anything that comes in the way of his fist.

From the looks of the trailer, Ungli seems to be a fast-paced action filled movie replete with great punch lines and a riveting story. The symbolic middle finger raised to heap scorn at those who trouble the common man could well catch on with the masses though we aren't too sure if our conservative censor board would take it kindly. Emraan seems to have received ample screen space in the movie and dominates the trailer with his vigilante acts and a kissing scene thrown in at the fag end of it. Sanjay Dutt's return on screen as a police officer would arouse much interest among viewers given the fact the actor is still behind bars. Kangana looks as sexy as ever though the trailer reveals ever so little about the exact role of her and other actors apart from them being the part of the Ungli gang led by Emraan.

Trailers often appear impressive and Ungli too delights in its endeavour to keep the audience riveted.
