Ashlee Simpson, Ross share why daughter is best addition to tour

Singer Ashlee Simpson and husband Evan Ross, an actor and a musician, are gearing up to go on a tour together. The couple is looking forward to bring their three-year-old daughter, Jagger, along for the adventure.

"We've been in rehearsal, actually, (and) Jagger was at our rehearsal dancing it up!" Simpson said, referring to the couple's upcoming Ashlee+Evan Tour, reports of media.

Ross added, "So we had the best background dancer ever today! We just left rehearsal today, (and) we've got some rehearsals to do, but we're excited."

The couple doesn't have a whole lot of time before their North American tour officially kicks off on 7 January 2019, at the Bowery Ballroom in New York, and continues for a total of eight announced stops before wrapping up on 18 January here.

"We are bringing the (whole) family on the road," Ross shared. "Everybody's coming!"

The couple has been busy with their reality show, also titled Ashlee+Evan, as well as releasing new music together.

Trump calls SNL 'Democrat spin machine'

US President Donald Trump has openly criticized the show Saturday Night Live and the NBC network as "Democrat spin machines".

"A real scandal is a one-sided coverage, hour by hour, of networks like NBC and Democrat spin machines like Saturday Night Live," Trump tweeted on Sunday, according to leading publication.

"It is all nothing less than unfair news coverage and Dem(ocrat) commercials. Should be tested in courts, can't be legal? Only defame and belittle! Collusion?"

Last week's episode of Saturday Night Live opened with a sketch featuring Alec Baldwin, impersonating Trump, in a parody of the classic holiday film It's a Wonderful Life.

The cold open showed Baldwin's Trump what the world would be like without him as President.

In addition to Trump himself, the sketch also featured impersonations of his sons Eric and Donald Jr., wife Melania, former counsellor Kellyanne Conway and Special Counsel Robert Mueller, played by Robert De Niro.

This is not the first time Trump has slammed the show.

Earlier, he took specific aim at Baldwin's impersonation of him, calling it an "agony for those forced to watch".

Heidi Klum packs on PDA with Tom Kaulitz

Supermodel Heidi Klum, 45, stole a lip-lock with her 29-year-old beau Tom Kaulitz as she took her daughter out for Christmas shopping here.

Klum sported a pinstripe suit with a blue blazer and contrast black trousers when she took her nine-year-old daughter Lou -- who she shares with ex-husband Seal -- to a jewellery store here, reported by leading publication.

The model, who has been with guitarist Kaulitz since earlier this year, stopped to steal a smooch with him while her daughter walked ahead.

'Carol' producers to get BAFTA honour

Elizabeth Karlsen and Stephen Woolley, the pair behind the Number 9 Film of Carol fame are to receive the outstanding British contribution to cinema award at next year's British Academy Film Awards ceremony, organized by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).

The BAFTA awards ceremony will be held on 10 February 2019, according to media.

Married since the early 1990s, Karlsen and Woolley set up Number 9 Films in 2002. The banner has since been behind more than 20 features, including Made in Dagenham, Carol, Youth, The Limehouse Golem and Collette, and has earned 52 BAFTA nominations in total.

It is currently working on So Much Love, about British singer Dusty Springfield, being written and directed by Carol scribe Phyllis Nagy.

"Elizabeth and Stephen are two of the UK's leading producers whose contribution to the British film industry over the last four decades is outstanding," said BAFTA film committee chair Marc Samuelson.

"Their commitment to producing independent films in the UK which breaks down barriers and connects with audiences internationally is an inspiration to us all. The success they have enjoyed is a testament to their passion and excellence in filmmaking and we're delighted to award them the outstanding British contribution to cinema award."

Woolley and Karlsen are ecstatic about the honour.

"We are both extremely honoured to be given this prestigious award. Just to be mentioned in the same breath as Michael Balcon is special. We would like to thank BAFTA for recognizing the importance of independent producers in the UK and thank everyone involved," they said in a joint statement.

Their individual careers as producers too have been prolific.

Take me back: Offset urges Cardi B mid-show

Rapper Cardi B was left unimpressed by estranged husband and fellow rapper Offset's gesture of appearing onstage during her set at a festival here, with flowers and cake and a plea which read "Take me back, Cardi".

Cardi announced her separation from Offset -- with whom she has a child named Kulture -- earlier this month. Offset has since been vocal about how much he has been missing her.

Continuing his efforts to win her back, Offset went onstage at the Rolling Loud Festival here on Saturday night, and surprised the crowd at the Banc of California Stadium by appearing during Cardi's set.

The moment was captured on video.

The two exchanged words, after which Offset exited the stage and Cardi had the props removed.

Kerry Katona meets long lost brother

Singer Kerry Katona met her long-lost brother for the first time.

The 38-year-old star shared a selfie with her sibling whom she had never met, on her Instagram page, reported by media.

"Just met my big brother for the first time! Absolutely love him," Katona wrote alongside the picture.

Last week, Katona had told fans she had seen her brother for the first time after an emotional Facetime call.

She had said, "Omg! Just spoke to my biological brother for the first time on Facetime! Emotional isn't the world!"

As her fans were curious to know what her brother looks like, Katona shared photos.

She captioned them, "Sooooo after 8 years of texting, we finally spoke on Facetime. This is my older brother who I am yet to meet in person!"

Katona was brought up in Warrington, Cheshire, by four sets of foster parents.

She moved around in her formative years, attending eight schools, before she eventually left aged 16 to become a lap dancer, and joined a dance group that toured Europe.

In 2008, Katona had hired a private investigator to track down her biological father.

Sarah Silverman done with using gay slurs

Actress-comedian Sarah Silverman says she is done using gay slurs in her comedy.

In an interview to TMZ, the 48-year-old comedian addressed her previous use of homophobic slang in tweets that came to surface in the wake of the Kevin Hart-Oscars controversy, reports of leading publication.

Asked if she would use words like that again, Silverman said, "I'm done with that."

"I think I can find other ways to be funny. I used to say ‘gay' all the time -- ‘Oh that's so gay'. Because we're from Boston. We'd go, ‘That's what you say in Boston. I have gay friends, I just say gay'. And then I heard myself and realized… it was stupid. And I'm certainly creative enough to think of other words besides that that don't hurt people."

Actor-comedian Hart recently dropped out as the host of Oscars 2019 after old homophobic tweets were dredged up from his Twitter feed.

Though she wouldn't comment on Hart's situation or Nick Cannon, who re-tweeted Silverman's tweets, Silverman expressed her perspective on the matter.

"Comedians don't like to be told what to do. Anyone should express themselves as they see fit. And if there are consequences, that's part of it," she said.
