VFX gives boost to Kamal Sadanah's Roar-Tigers of the Sunderbans

Get ready for an Indian jungle safari for Kamal Sadanah promises to deliver you just that with his directorial venture Roar-Tigers of the Sunderbans. Shot in the dense jungles of Sunderbans, this film revolves around the life and times of the endangered but ferocious white tigers residing in Sunderbans. However, getting to shoot with the famed white cat proved to be a big impediment given the fact that permissions are almost impossible to get from the government. Kamal therefore moved to Los Angeles and availed the services of trained tigers there to shoot for his movie. "We have used 85 percentage of real tigers in the movie," says Kamal. The movie also sees close up shots of the big cat wrestling with the actors while engaged in a fiery duel. Kamal prefers to credit the special effects team of his movie for creating such real-life effects. "We have had a crew of more than 100 working on just special effects alone and have used close to 800 VFX shots," explains Kamal. Roar-Tigers of the Sunderbans will also see new actors making their onscreen debut. Among the known faces are Subrata Dutta and Achint Kaur. Recollecting the hardships they faced while shooting Achint says, "We were locked in the middle of the jungle and even finding washrooms were literally difficult." Though the cast and crew had innumerable sightings of snakes and other reptiles, not one single tiger could be spotted. "Tigers are extremely shy creatures and they don't prefer to come out in open often," says Achint. The movie's trailer which was launched by superstar Salman Khan yesterday will release across India on 19 September.
