Alia has chosen to maintain her silence amid all this, however, the actress had once aired her views on the existence of nepotism in Bollywood. She opened up about it at the fourth edition of Women of Worth (WOW) Awards 2019 held in Mumbai, during which she said that she cannot apologize for being born in the family, however, she can definitely work hard to prove her mettle and to prove that she deserved to be here.

She had said, “It feels terrible if you feel like somebody else is getting an opportunity because of their family line, so there is no way to counter that thought. It does exist. As I said, there are no negative thoughts. I can't wake up and say sorry for being born in this family. But I can definitely say that I will work as hard as possible to prove that I deserve to be here."

Alia Bhatt made her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Student of The Year in 2012. Since then, there has been no looking back for the actress, as she starred in some really impactful films such as Highway, Udta Punjab, Raazi, Gully Boy, and others. She will next be seen in Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2. She also has Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra in which she will be seen alongside her beau Ranbir Kapoor; and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi.
