61st South Indian Filmfare Awards

The 61st Idea Filmfare Awards 2013 (South) saw the cr?me de la cr?me of the South Indian film industry converge under one roof in Chennai. It was an evening of excellence and grandeur where upcoming stars rubbed shoulders with veterans and legends of the South industry.

Singer Chinmayi and actor Rahul played the perfect hosts entertaining the audiences with their wit and flawless chemistry. While they had the crowd in splits with their witty one-liners, more entertainment followed when divas took to the stage to display their scintillating performances.

Actress Asha Sarath danced to the tunes of Malayalam songs like Arrivin Nilaave and Angopangam while Sruthi Hariharan swayed to Kannada hits Thinbedakami and Nee Thorebeda from Lucia and Tamil numbers Nallavannu Solvaanga from Veeram and Yeppa Mama Treatu from Jilla.

Tamil diva Sanchita Shetty rocked the stage with chartbusters like Kasu Pannau Duddu Money Money, Mama Dowser and Ethir Neechal title track. The prettiest face from Bangalore, Parul Yadav scorched it up with Kannada numbers like Pyarge Aagbittaite (Govindaya Namaha), Kai kaya (Chingari), Baite baite (Varadanayaka) and Darling Darling (Madarangi).

Danseuse-actress Rima Kallingal wowed the audience with her deft moves to numbers Chillane (22 Female Kottayam), Theerathe neelunne (Thira), Nenjile from the movie 1983 and Mangalyam from Bangalore Days.

Bollywood too made its presence felt through Taapsee Pannu who dazzled one and all with her electrifying dance performance on her Tamil hits. Finally it was Chennai’s favourite the hot Shruthi Haasan who sent temperatures soaring with hits like Dappa Dappa, Why this Kolavari Di, Pilla Nuvuu Leni Jeevitham and Cinimaa Chupista Mama.

Stars and celebrities from all four South industries showed unparalleled gusto in celebrating the winners and the nominees.
