Imagine a dysfunctional family, forced to holiday on a cruise...will the members bury their problems and live like a happy family or cry bloody murder and spit fire on one another? Yes, that's exactly what you have to find out in Zoya Akhtar's upcoming Dil Dhadakne Do.

The trailer, which was released on 15 April, is a visual treat with slick camera work and rich production design. It's not surprising, since Akhtar's last outing Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was a stunning postcard-esque handbook for Spain tourism. Zoya sure has outdone herself by making the entire cast look sizzling hot amid the cool blue sea. With the backdrop of crystal clear water is the majestic white cruise liner, dotted with a bunch of people who have to confront each other if they have to survive the long journey. 

From what we have seen in the trailer so far, we are sure it's going to be an epic ride. The pretentious Mehra family strives hard to put their differences aside, but when they are forced to spend time on a cruise, they discover many realities about one another. The cruise is kind of a metaphor where eventually the family decides to face their issues rather than running away from it. Because where would you run when you're in the middle of the sea?

What adds to the drama is the perfect casting. Anil Kapoor plays the patriarch who's caught between his boring marriage and his gentleman public image. Shefali Shah plays his Kitty Party-loving and gossiping wife, while Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra play their equally pretentious children. 

Priyanka, looking stunning in every frame, is tired of her spark-less marriage to Rahul Bose, while secretly crushing on her college best buddy and current cruise co-passenger Farhan Akhtar (looking dapper as ever...sigh!)

Ranveer is back to being the quintessential confused youngster who's pressurised into marrying a woman of his parents' choice. But the rebel that he is, he laughs their proposal off and indulges in a whirlwind romance on the deck and amid the seas with his former real life flame Anushka Sharma. While Sharma's and Farhan's roles in the family drama is unclear, we are sure they'd add their bit to the dysfunction.

Will PeeCee's character seek divorce and have a fling with her best friend? Will Ranveer crumble under the pressure from his parents and marry the girl of their choice? How would Rahul, Anushka and Farhan tackle this Mehra family? That's for us to find out on 5 June, 2015.
