Jayshree Bhabhi back on TV in R K Laxman Ki Duniya as Gujarati housewife

Vandana Pathak
The gossip queen, Jayshree Bhabhi from Khichdi is back on the small screen. Before you start jumping to conclusions, let Tellychakkar.com make it very clear that actress Vandana Pathak, who essayed the said role, will be back on TV with another comedy show R K Laxman Ki Duniya on SAB from 28 November 2011 at 9 pm. The show is based on the works of Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan recipient-cartoonist R K Laxman. When we spoke to Vandana about her role, she sounded extremely excited, “I have read R K Laxman’s cartoon strips as a child. I feel honored to be a part of a show based on his works.” Vandana will play a Gujarati housewife in the show who adores her husband. Though, she tells us that she has great expectations from this show, Vandana is still gaga over the character that made her a household name, “I am very grateful to have received such great reviews for my role as Jayshreebhabhi.” However, this brilliant TV comedy show that was made into a movie later was never given as a hardbound scripted to its actors in the early days. “Aatish Kapadia (writer and director of the series) used to just read out our dialogues from the script to us and after memorizing them, we gave the shots. We never got our hands on the script,” reveals Vandana. She informs us that this practice was continued for all the five years the show was on air. Well Vandana, if with no scripts, you guys could do such a great job, we wonder what would have been the case if you guys did have one. Kudos to you and the Khichdi gang!!!!
