Playing a dumb-witted village belle has come quite easy to the otherwise Mumbai brought up Sameeksha Sud, who is presently enjoying her stint in her show Doli Armaanon Ki on Zee TV. Talking on the same, she shares, “I am enjoying the pagalpanti and stupid things that my character is up to in the show. She is like a young kid who doesn’t have a mind of her own. She believes and follows whatever people around tell her. The character is completely clueless about the happenings around; only her husband matters to her. She is also good at heart and very family oriented.” With her character being married to a guy more than 10 years older to her to bring an offspring in the family, we ask her take on the same. “Yes, I think it does happen around our country but I feel that a woman should stand up for herself. If not, the society takes a woman for granted and she gets oppressed. Also education is by far the most important need of the hour as that can only change the outlook of people.” Turning away to a lighter topic, Sameeksha talks about her team. “We have so much fun on the sets and every moment is spent laughing and cracking jokes. This is the first time I am seeing a team that is filled with so simple and down to earth people. There is just no negativity among anyone.” And finally when we asked her what kind of roles she would like to do next, the girl smiles to say, “Something vibrant and youth centric roles. I would always like to keep a balance in the kind of roles I do. Apart from Baal Veer, I am currently also doing a show on DD, Sanskaar Bharti where I anchor, give voice over. The show basically explores the rich culture of our society. So I think something modern and real is next on my list,” she concludes. All the best Sameeksha!
