'Last minute' elimination on X Factor

Sony TV’s X Factor finally witnessed its third elimination on the show. The elimination episode was shot on Wednesday. A source tells us, “It was a father’s special episode which saw the eliminations. During the episode messages were waiting for Sonu Niigaam and Shreya Ghoshal from their respective fathers. Sonu’s father spoke about how proud he was to have a son who had achieved a lot in life. Shreya’s father was happy to state that she was very sensible even though she has become a big celebrity.” Another source tells us, “It was a beautiful episode but it also saw eliminations. Based on the votes received from the viewers the bottom two contestants were SLB’s Last Minute and Sonu Niigaam’s singing star Piyush. In the face-off round Last Minute sang Usha Uthup’s Ab Ke Saawan and Piyush sang Kurbaan’s title track. After both the performances, Sanjay Leela Bhansali voted in favour of his band Last Minute whereas Shreya and Sonu voted for Piyush. SLB opted for his team as it close to his heart while Sonu chose Piyush for his performance. Shreya too liked Piyush’s singing but asked the Last Minute team not to shed tears as they are also very close to her heart.” Commenting on the father’s special episode, Sonu Niigaam said, “Usually a father is proud of his child’s success, but my father has always been grounded. He never tells anyone that I am his son or talks about me until and unless he is asked about me. This is how humble he is and I am very proud of him.” This episode can be seen on Friday, July 08.
