Producer-director Rajan Shahi who stated his career 18 years ago as an associate to Ravi Rai has come a long way. Rajan certainly knows how to rule the roost when it comes to TRPs. But our soap sleuths at TellyChakkar have observed that the maker has a certain Khan connection. Sara Khan gained popularity with his show Bidaai. Viewers loved Hina Khan in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. And now you can see yet another Khan, Ada Khan in Rajan’s next Amrit Manthan. It seems that Rajan knows exactly who ‘Khan’ make a show successful. When asked on the Khan magic in his shows Shahi laughed, “Well, it is quite an interesting observation. Sara, Hina and Ada share the same Khan surname and it is just a co-incidence. It is certainly not the reason for them getting picked for different roles in my shows.” “However, I am very happy that Sara is doing well for herself. I feel proud when she acknowledges me for her success. Bidaai was her first show and I am happy that she has done well after that. I am also very proud of Hina who is doing a real good job. It has been two and half years since Yeh Rishta went on air and I am amazed by the way she still maintains her grace, dignity, values and passion. I am proud of her hard work,” said Rajan. Commenting on his decision to rope in Ada Khan for his upcoming show Amrit Manthan he said, “It all happened by chance and nothing was pre-determined. I always wanted to work with Ada and when the right opportunity came, she was my first choice.” It now seems that there are Khans not just on the big screen but the small screen as well!
