Pretty actress Helly Shah, last seen on Khushiyon Kii Gullak Aashi, is all set with her upcoming show Swaragini on Colors, where she will be seen essaying the character of a Bong girl Swara.

Speaking about her character Helly commented, “My character is of a strong independent woman, who is confident, bubbly yet very sensitive. I live with my mother and grandmother, who have brought me up, and they themselves are very strong.”

And the dedicated actress is nowadays learning Bengali to portray her character convincingly. “Since I am playing a Bong girl, I need to learn the language. Though I won’t be saying fluent Bengali, I want to get my dictions correct. There are few Bongs in the cast and crew; I am learning the language from them.”

The young lady, who is quite a few serials old, also spoke about essaying strong women characters on television. “I think somehow our audience has become used to see the ‘bechari’ portrayal woman. But, that should not be the case. As Indian television is growing, many different kinds of stories are being introduced and I believe audiences are gradually accepting that change.”

“Even in my show, my grandmother is a strong disciplined woman, so is my mother, and they have nurtured me in a similar manner,” added the chirpy girl.

Before signing off the Helly also mentioned that she is enjoying playing this character as it has many similarities with her real life persona.
