TV industry speaks up on the Goods and Service Tax

TV industry speaks up on the Goods and Service Tax

GST has been introduced under 2017 The Constitution Act by the government. It’s an indirect tax applicable throughout India. Henceforth, there will just be one tax and all the other taxes will be alleviated.

The revolutionary tax system has already been launched from the midnight of 1st July, 2017. The effects of GST can be seen on all and sundry which includes our beloved TV celebs as well.

The market today is rife with all sorts of comments pouring in from all corners which is why we were intrigued to know about the opinion our TV celebs had with regards to the Goods and service Tax.

Read on to find out what they said:

Aashka Goradia was very enthused talking about GST, quipped she “It’s an excellent step taken by the government, this will reform the economy. GST is basically revised tax which is beneficial to the society.  India needed this earlier. I thank the government for implementing this."

Rupali Ganguly is a very intelligent actress, talking about the goodness of GST, she revealed “I am happy with GST happening. I support Modiji. It is going to benefit India and I am looking forward to a better India. It is for the betterment of the society.  The agriculture tax which is revised will help the farmers."

Talking in a very candid manner, Gaurav Chopraa stated “I think the thought is relevant. The country needed something like this.” Talking even more about GST, he also shed light on the shortcomings of the government a little bit when he said, “Though the previous government introduced bills like this, but never got implemented. There are different prices for the same things in different places, so to make the price same is very necessary. Our country is diversified; sometimes it becomes divided diversified instead of united diversified. I don’t agree with GST completely, but everybody has different perceptions.”

“I appreciate it as it is a single window tax system,” said Manish Raisinghan. He further asserted the positivity of GST by saying “It is going to help us and would simplify things. Previously we used to pay extra tax on almost everything but now all the different taxes have condensed into one.”

Our very beloved Shakti Arora too had to share his opinion on the Goods and service tax, he said, “Garments above Rs 1000 will attract 12% tax compared to the 5% that it used to attract earlier. We are ready paying huge income tax without getting proper infrastructure like roads, medical, education and many more. Life is becoming difficult day by day paying so many taxes and because of the new law amendment we will definitely think twice before spending."

Lastly, the beautiful actress Daljiet Kaur couldn’t stop praising the GST, she said, “Many changes have been introduced during these days. People are adopting those changes like people have embraced Rs 2000 notes. GST will benefit in the longer run as it is too early to comment on its advantages."
