MUMBAI: Swati Kapoor, who was seen on Star Plus' popular shows such as Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji, has bagged a new project.

The pretty face will now entertain the masses with her stint on the historical drama Chandrashekhar. The show is based on the life of legendary freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad.

As per the storyline, Bhagat Singh will now be introduced on Chandrashekhar. Swati will play Bhagat Singh's love interest.

Confirming the news to TellyChakkar, Swati said, "I was very excited when I was offered this show as I have never done such a show. I have always done dailies of the current era and Chandrashekhar is one of a kind venture." 

Swati has already started shooting for the show.
