MUMBAI: Chhapaak is a movie based on Malti the acid victim who went through this trauma, and fought back every obstacle in her life so that she could live a normal life. The movie showcases the struggle of Malti, and her fight for justice. Post the Nirbhaya case there was a huge outrage in the within the people and their protests that happened on the streets.

Now during the trailer launch when the team was asked about the Hyderbad rape case the team refuse to say anything and the director of the movie Meghna Gulzar said that in our country there is a judiciary a system that takes care of all this so talking about these issues is not right.

Recently also when Deepika was asked about it she refused to say anything about it, and just smiled and walked away.
