Even her movie, lipstick under my burkha was lauded for its strong portrayal of not-so-normal portrayals and challenging the notions of the society.

It was recently announced that Ekta Kapoor will be awarded India’s fourth-highest civilian award, Padma Shri this year. The final list of names of the awardees was announced by the government on January 25, on the eve of Republic Day.
