MUMBAI: The multi-faceted Anish N Surana, who has been Creative director for many popular shows like Suryaputra Karn, Mere Sai, Naamkarann among others, has taken a big leap in his career. He has added another feather to his cap by turning a producer.

Yes, Anish is all set to roll out his first project as a producer. It is a web-series which is touted to be a romcom and will be launched on one of the leading OTT platforms - ZEE5.

Well, with the 21-days of lockdown, people have been quarantine and are  binge watching series on their personal phone. And hence, ZEE5 thought it is the right time to launch a project.

Talking about the series, it is titled Phone a Friend. The 12-episodes web-show will revolve around a boy who will eventually come across a mobile phone which can talk and it will give him tips on impressing a girl.

Phone a Friend is directed by Allison and Yash. Along with Anish the project is also produced by Ashish and Surabhi Mittal.

When contacted Anish, he shared, “I am excited to see the project  getting launched as it’s my first baby as a producer. I will continue to create shows. The series is very unique and is a light hearted comedy. In the midst of this crucial situation , the series will help viewers to unwind and enjoy.”

Phone a Friend is expected to launch sometime in the first half of April.
