IPL compels Sony to change its show timings

Sony has decided to play around with the time slots of the five Yash Raj shows. Not only will the channel move the shows away from their weekend slots, it has also planned to do the same with its existing shows. Recently the channel shifted Pyaar Ka Bandhan from 10.30 pm to 8 pm and the five YRF shows too have got new timings. The channel is shuffling the timings because of the impending third season of IPL, beginning on March 12 on Set Max. Sony does not want their shows to suffer because of the cricket matches.

The channel is shuffling the timings because of the impending third season of IPL, beginning on March 12 on Set Max. Sony does not want their shows to suffer because of the cricket matches. Crime Patrol hosted by Sakshi Tanwar and Anup Soni will now air at 9.30 pm every day excluding Sundays. Jeet Jayenge Hum remains at the same 9.30 pm slot and Mahi Way will now be on Fridays 9pm. Rishta.com will push to 11 pm every Wednesday and Powder will be on air at 11 pm every Thursday. Seven will be on Fridays at 9 pm and Lift Kara De on Saturdays at 8 pm. Pushtiie who stars in Mahi Way says, "Yes, Mahi Way has got a new time slot now. I don't know why the show got shifted to another time slot but it's the channel's call. I am not aware about the changed timings of the other shows." A source informs, "Yes, most of the shows from Sony will be getting new timings because of the IPL. Pyaar Ka Bandhan was not doing very well and hence it is pushed to the 8 pm slot and everyone knows that Bayttaab Dil Ki Tamanna Hai is going off-air. Sphere Origin's Godh Bharai may replace it and a new show will fill in the Pyaar Ka Bandhan slot." The source adds, "The shows have been placed carefully in different slots so that viewers don't miss them out. There are fewer chances to them going back to their original timings after the IPL gets over." Ajit Thakur, Business Head of Sony remained unavailable for comments.
