MUMBAI: Amazon Prime Video’s latest web series, Paatal Lok, is already poised to return for a second outing. The highly successful crime drama dives deep into the darkness prevalent in different sections of our society and builds an enthralling web around its characters.
Jaideep Ahlawat who plays Inspector Hathi Ram Chaudhary in the show recently teased the sequel via a tweet while answering fan questions.

Season 1 of Paatal Lok was adapted from Tarun Tejpal’s book from 2009 titled The Story of My Assassins. However, the second coming will be fresh and throw Hathi Ram’s character into a murkier world of downtrodden griminess.
The web series has been adapted by Sudip Sharma, Sagar Haveli, Hardik Mehta, and Gunjit Chopra. Sharma has previously penned films like NH10 and Udta Punjab, both of which have been darker takes on the existing reality of our country.
Paatal Lok also stars Abhishek Bannerjee, Gul Panag, Neeraj Kabi, Swastika Mukherjee, and has been produced by Anushka Sharma’s Clean Slate Films.
