MUMBAI: Shireen Mirza is popularly known for her role Simran Bhalla AKA Simmi in Star Plus' superhit drama series Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. The actress was a part of this show for six years and proved her mettle in acting leaving the viewers impressed. 

We have often seen how TV celebs are seen playing meaty roles in films. Well, Shireen opened up about one such opportunity she had got in an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar.

Shireen revealed that she was supposed to star in Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Dabangg. Yes, you heard it right!

Shireen said, "I had auditioned for the role of Arbaaz Khan's wife Nirmala. However, sometimes you are very close to getting something and you lose it."

The actress did not get to play the role and later Mahie Gill was seen playing Arbaaz Khan's wife in the movie. 

Well, it would have been a delight seeing Shireen starring opposite Arbaaz in the film.
