MUMBAI: A name without which the history of cricket is incomplete, Kapil Dev, and today he turns a year older, the 1983 World Cup-winning skipper is being flooded with wishes from across the internet. Among many others, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, who is all set to play him on the celluloid in '83, penned a heartfelt note. He shared it along with a montage video dedicated to the former skipper. In the same, Singh thanked the cricketing legend for allowing the team of '83 to tell his extraordinary story to the world.
Ranveer Singh's caption read, “Colossus of a Captain! Gem of a person! Thank you Sir for embracing us and allowing us to tell your extraordinary story! The team of '83 shared the similar video of their official social media account and wrote, "legend for an entire generation. A hero for an entire country. Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, too, poured in their heartwarming wishes for the legend. Sachin tweeted, “Happy birthday @therealkapildev paaji! Wishing you a year full of happiness & health,” while Virat wrote, "Happy Birthday @therealkapildev. Wishing you happy times ahead for you and your family. Have a wonderful and a healthy year ahead.”
