MUMBAI: A well-known name in Marathi cinema, Gashmeer Mahajani, who made his Hindi TV debut with Imlie has quit the show. He recently quit Imlie and in conversation with a media portal, he clarified that his departure from the show was not on a sour note.

“The reason why I quit Imlie is known only to the producer Gul Khan and me. That will stay between us. But the parting was very amicable. In fact, Gul and I have already decided that we will work on some other project in the future. Who says I quit on a sour note? Not at all. Also, it was never about my date issues. All the rumours about me not being able to give dates to the show are completely false.”

Talking about his replacement, Gashmeer shared, “I am a very self-centred guy (laughs), so who is going to replace me doesn’t matter. But, yes, I would like to watch the show reaching milestones and one of the reasons for that is Sumbul. She is dynamite and she has grown as an actress in the past year. I will definitely watch the show to see how Sumbul fares and I would want her to excel in her career.”
