Contrary to other award ceremonies in which actors and actresses are given awards according to their performances the previous year, the Golden Kela does just the opposite, no matter if the films they have acted in have crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark, that is today regarded as the benchmark of a highly successful film. Take for instance, the case of Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha. While Ajay gave hits like Son Of Sardaar and Bol Bachchan last year, Sonakshi gave tremendous hits like Rowdy Rathore and Dabangg 2. Yet the two were named the worst actor and worst actress respectively for these very films at the 5th edition of Golden Kela Awards recently. In the film section, the Akshay Kumar-starrer Joker was termed as the worst film. This may be seconded by many film buffs. Director Shirish Kunder earned the worst director award rightly named as Beta Tumse Na Ho Payega Award. The award for the worst sequel was given to the Arbaaz Khan-directed Dabangg 2 in the form of Bawra Ho Gaya Hai Ke Award. In the music section, Chinta Ta Chita Chita (Rowdy Rathore) earned the award as the ‘Most Irritating Song’ while Ishq Wala Love (Student of the Year) was honoured with the Worst Lyrics award. Other awards are as follows: Super Hit of 2012 – Shahrukh Khan for slapping Shirish Kunder, Why Are You Still Trying Award Jackky Bhagnani (Kal Kissne Dekha and Ajab Gazabb Love), Bas Kijiye Bahut Ho Gaya Award Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt and Anti-Kela Award for Best Films Gangs of Wasseypur, Paan Singh Tomar, Vicky Donor and Kahaani.
