Ranbir Kapoor doesn’t make friends easily. But when he warms up to someone he pulls out all stops to extend a hand of friendship. So far his big buddies in Bollywood are Ayan Mukerjee and Imtiaz Ali.(Contrary to general perception he scarcely meets or vibes with Imran Khan). But now Ranbir has found another buddy in singer-rapper Honey Singh. The two met in Delhi at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium ground during the shooting of Abhinav Kashyap’s Besharam on the evening of Holi (on Wednesday) to discuss the song that Honey would be singing for Ranbir in the film. And within 15 minutes the twosome was the talk of the entire crew. Says a member of the unit, “Ranbir is a chilled-out guy. He is friendly with everyone. But what we saw him sharing with rapper Honey Singh on Wednesday night was something else.” The two became inseparable bum-chums and were seem confiding in one another. Says the unit member, “Ranbir and Honey share a mutual passion for cars and girls. We could make out from snatches that a lot of automobiles and ladies were being discussed.” Apparently, Honey and Ranbir spent close to four hours chattering away. Honey had to leave to catch flight to Dubai. And that isn’t all. Ranbir, we hear, will be collaborating with Honey Singh for a series of songs since he feels Honey’s voice and attitude suit him. When one contacted Honey Singh for details of this unusual dosti, Honey was about to board his flight. He said, “News travels fast! Yes, I’ve formed the most incredible friendship with Ranbir. I had gone to discuss our song for Abhinav’s film. Kaam ki baat toh 15 minute mein kahatam go gayi. We discovered many common interests. I found Ranbir to be as chilled-out as me. To be honest I’ve been working closely with other Bollywood stars. I am a very open-hearted guy. But I find Bollywood’s actor to be extremely cagey. I am typical North Indian. Main toh sab kuch bol deta hoon. They don’t open up that easily. With Ranbir within minutes we were sharing confidential secrets. Obviously I am not going to tell you what we spoke about.” Honey did let out that they both love fast cars. “Ranbir and I own the same car with the same number (Audi RB Number 8). We share a lot of common interests. In fact I am taking him partying in Delhi next week. To be honest before meeting Ranbir I was wary of star-kids. I find they get everything too easily. But Ranbir is who he is not because of his family but his own talent and good nature. He’s self-made, like me.” About their professional partnership Honey reveals, “Yeah, we’ll be working on several songs. But that isn’t all. I’m also going to make him sing for me.”
