MUMBAI: 83 is a sports drama directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Reliance Entertainment. It is based on the India national cricket team led by Kapil Dev, which won the 1983 Cricket World Cup. It stars Ranveer Singh as Dev and Padukone as Romi Bhatia, Dev's wife.

The film is finally on OTT! People can now witness the historic win of India at the 1983 first world cup. Kapil Dev was the Captain of Team India then. Ranveer Singh played Kapil Dev's role in the film and he did justice to it. But did you know Kapil paaji walked out of the theatre after watching the film three times?

He revealed that he used to get very emotional every time he made an attempt to watch the film and walked out of the theatre. "The first time I saw it, I was like okay this is a film. It did not impact me. The second time became very emotional. I couldn’t believe our lives have been transpired so beautifully on screen. All these years I thought Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was the ultimate sports film but I was so touched with 83. I actually walked out of the theatre the third time, I was supposed to watch it," he said.

He even added that how he couldn't stop crying while watching the film the second time and left the film midway for the third time.

Lauding Ranveer Singh and his dedication towards the film, Kapil Dev said, "I understand the passion but they are actors and they were working so hard that I was worried. I was with Ranveer in Delhi where he would be on the field for six-eight hours in the summers. I told him he was overdoing it and may injure himself. However, he was just too passionate about the film."

The film features an ensemble cast of Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Adinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, and R. Badree.

The film 83 is now available on the OTT platform as the Bombay High Court had rejected the plea to stay its OTT release. Ranveer shared the news with his fans as he shared a video on Instagram.
