MUMBAI :Music composer and actor - Vijay Antony recently met with an accident while shooting on the sets of his next Tamil film Pichaikkaran 2, which will also be his directorial debut. The cast and crew of the film were shooting in Malaysia, and the actor shared on his Twitter handle that he had an accident on-set where his jaw and nose were injured, which is why he had to go through a major surgery.

The accident occurred while they were shooting in Langkawi Island in Malaysia. They were shooting an action sequence that was being filmed on the water. Sources reveal that Vijay was riding a water boat, which suddenly went out of control and rammed into a bigger boat, which had the camera crew and setup team onboard. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur. Take a look at the actor’s tweet:

Vijay tweeted, “Dear friends, I am safely recovered from a severe jaw and nose injury during Pichaikkaran 2 shoot in Malaysia. I just completed a major surgery. I will talk to you all as soon as possible. Thank you for all your support and concern for my health (sic).”

His post was accompanied with a picture of himself showing a thumbs up while seemingly lying down on a hospital bed. Many people immediately took to the comments section to wish him a speedy recovery. Actor and filmmaker R. Parthiepan tweeted, “Get well soon my friend (sic).” Even Actor Nandita Swetha tweeted, “I wish you speed recovery (sic).”

With Pichaikkaran 2, Vijay Antony is making his directorial debut. It began production a few months ago, and since then, the film has been shooting in various parts of Malaysia. This is set to be the sequel of the very successful Tamil drama Pichaikkaran, directed by Sasi. It had Vijay Antony in the lead role. The story is about a billionaire businessman who leads a secret life as a beggar for 48-days as a part of a religious offering to save his mother from dying.

Vijay Antony is also producing and composing the music for the sequel other than directing it as well. The film also stars John Vijay, Harish Beradi, YG Mahendran, Ajay Ghosh, Yogi Babu and more. The film is getting ready for a summer release.

Vijay Antony has many other projects set to release this year, including Tamilarasan, Agni Siragugal, Khaki, Kolai, Ratham, and Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan among others.
