MUMBAI: Recently, news has been doing the rounds that the threequel movie of the successful Hera Pheri franchise is going to be made. Since this news was out, fans have been anticipating the release of this film. There were speculations about who the lead actor would be, and Akshay Kumar and Kartik Aaryan’s names have been at the top of the list for a while now.
While the confirmation of the same is awaited, reports are now saying that Dream Girl director Raaj Shaandilyaa has been asked to direct the film. In a recent interview with the filmmaker, he confirmed the same news. He said, “Yes it's true. Though I’ll take the decision once I finish with Dream Girl 2. I’ll get officially involved in the scripting of the film as well, but after I am done with my ongoing commitment. Discussions keep happening but things will roll after we sign the contract and come on the same page.”
Currently, he is occupied with his project Dream Girl 2 which stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday. They have already completed 95 percent of the shoot.

This is the first time that Ayushmann and Ananya are working on a film together. During a previous conversation, Raaj shared that his goal was to bring a fresh pair on screen. He shared that Ayushmann has shared the screen with many actresses in the past, but this pairing is yet to be explored. He said, “Additionally, Ananya has never played a role like this in the past, and it’s looking really new onscreen. We all got along really well on the set, and have shot for Dream Girl 2 in Agra and in Mumbai.”
