PVR Ltd. launched its third multiplex in Bangalore at the Phoenix Market City Mall. Developed by Phoenix Group, the mall is located at Whitefield Main Road, Mahadevapura. The nine-screen multiplex is spread over two floors with four screens on the ground floor and five screens on the second floor. Complete with prime and recliner seating totaling 1,492, the multiplex makes PVR the largest cinema chain in Bangalore both in terms of number of cinemas and screen count. PVR already operates two properties at Forum Mall and Orion Mall totaling 22 screens besides the two properties of Cinemax comprising 10 screens. With the launch of this multiplex, PVR’s PAN India footprint extends to 374 screens in 87 cinemas spread across 36 cities. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman and Managing Director, PVR Ltd, Ajay Bijlisaid, “There is a growing appetite for good entertainment in India and considering the technology enriched Bangaloreans, we had tried to match their tastes with the finest movie experience in respect to picture clarity and sound. With no dearth of entertainment in the city burgeoning with massive shopping malls, pubs, art galleries & auditoriums, PVR has strategically planned its third multiplex for the people of the city to catch up their favourite movies.” Considering Bangalore as a well-known IT hub, the property has been designed in a manner with interiors mimicking the inner workings of a machine while the exterior referring to the outer shell of a computer. The launch was graced by Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha among others.
